Princess of Japan Hisako Takamado: "I am glad that my acquaintance with Russia began in Saransk"

Before her departure from Saransk, Mrs. Hisako Takamado visited the Cathedral of the holy righteous warrior Theodor Ushakov.

The Princess of Japan, as professional art critic, versed in the subtleties of painting and architecture, really wanted to see with her own eyes one of the most beautiful temples of the Volga region, built in Empire style with a neo-Byzantine dome.

Very carefully Her Imperial Highness considered the iconostasis of a gilded tree, the altar parts of which are consecrated in honor of St. Fedor Ushakov, St. Seraphim of Sarov and St. martyrs of Mordovia.

After visiting the temple, in a conversation with reporters, Ms. Takamado stressed:

- 2018 was officially declared the Year of Russia in Japan and, accordingly, the Year of Japan in Russia. And I am very pleased that my acquaintance with your country began exactly in Saransk, which became a host city of the World Cup. First of all, I flew here to support the team of my country, as I am the patroness of the Japanese Football Association. It is gratifying that our athletes worthily played the first qualifying match, having managed to defeat a fairly serious opponent - the Colombian national team. In addition, the Colombian team was well helped by their fans, who were very many in the stands of the "Mordovia Arena" stadium. The fans from Japan were inferior in number, although, I hope that the Russians supporters cheered for our team. And in the end, we showed a good game and a winning result. I want to believe that a successful start will allow our football players to lead by score in the next matches of the 2018 World Cup as well.

Mrs. Takamado also noted the benevolent warm atmosphere inherent in Football World Championship in Russia: "A great game - brings people from different countries and continents closer, allowing them to recognize and better understand each other."

Madam Takamado also has noted the benevolent warm atmosphere inherent in football world superiority in Russia: «the Big game - pulls together people of the different countries and continents, allowing to learn and better to understand each other.»

The special impression on the high guest has made original heritage of national culture carefully kept in region and arts.

Speaking about Mordovia, Her Imperial Highness, admitted that she learned a lot about our republic, where now representatives of more than 100 ethnic groups live in peace and harmony. The high guest was particularly impressed by the original heritage of national culture and art carefully preserved in the region.

«I am very pleasantly surprised, how many talented people were born and has grown on your earth! It would be desirable, that my fellow countrymen too have more close learnt your culture, and inhabitants of Russia have joined art of Japan», - Princess Hisako Takamado said at parting.
